MoVi Selections!

*Two films currently running at Galleria Cinemas at the Mall at Marathon (New Providence)* Any day of the week is a good day to see a movie. Whether you choose to hit the theatres for some of that buttery popcorn that you just can’t seem to get anywhere else, or snuggle under warm blankets at home in the comfort of your living room or bed, here are two movie recommendations from The MoVi Group based on ratings from Rotten Tomatoes (the TripAdvisor of movie sites). There were no “fresh tomatoes” certified this week, but here’s the best of what we could find. 1) Rampage Synopsis: Primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent silverback gorilla who’s been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it's soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote and fights his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend. Rotten Tomatoes’ Critics Consensus: “Rampage isn't as fun as its source material, but the movie's sheer button-mashing abandon might satisfy audiences in the mood for a brainless blockbuster.” 2) I Feel Pretty Synopsis: A woman who struggles with insecurity and low self-esteem that holds her back every day wakes up from a brutal fall believing she is a supermodel. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed? Rotten Tomatoes’ Critics Consensus: “I Feel Pretty has a charming star and the outline of a worthwhile comedy -- but unlike its suddenly confident central character, it suffers from a fundamental lack of conviction.”
